Astralis Bench HooXi and jabbi Following LAN Victory
Written with artificial intelligence.
Astralis has benched Rasmus 'HooXi' Nielsen and Jakob 'jabbi' Nygaard shortly after winning their first LAN title since 2019. Speculations suggest Kamil 'siuhy' Szkaradek and Nikita 'cmtry' Samolotov could join the team, although these moves remain unconfirmed.
Roster Changes at Astralis
In a significant move, Astralis has placed Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen and Jakob "jabbi" Nygaard on the bench effective immediately. This decision comes just days after the team celebrated its first LAN title since December 2019 at the Stake Ranked Episode 4 in Barcelona.
Potential New Additions
While the benching of HooXi and jabbi has been officially confirmed, the team's future lineup is still uncertain. Reports indicate that former Team Liquid captain Kamil "siuhy" Szkaradek and Ukrainian rifler Nikita "cmtry" Samolotov are potential signings, but neither has been officially announced yet. The timing of these moves follows ongoing discussions within the CS2 in-game-leader market, with siuhy's availability generating interest among teams.
Recent Performance
HooXi had led Astralis to their recent victory, contributing to the team's success with grand-final appearances at various tournaments, including PGL Astana 2025 and PGL Bucharest 2026. He joined Astralis permanently in June 2025, while jabbi became part of the team from HEROIC in November 2023.
Current Lineup and Upcoming Events
The current active roster includes Love "phzy" Smidebrant, Victor "Staehr" Staehr, and Gytis "ryu" Glušauskas, with Filip "NEO" Kubski serving as the coach. Staehr is the only Danish player among the active members. Astralis is scheduled to compete next at Stake Pulse Beat III, starting on October 12, 2026. Reports suggest that if cmtry joins, he may transition from an AWP role to rifling, but this remains speculative until any official announcements are made.
