MIBR Benchmarks VALORANT Roster, Opens Transfer Talks
Written with artificial intelligence.
MIBR has placed its entire VALORANT roster, including stars aspas and zekken, on the inactive list and initiated transfer negotiations. This decision comes shortly after the organization was named a partner team for the 2027 VCT Americas season.
MIBR's Major Roster Changes
MIBR has announced a significant shift in its VALORANT lineup by moving all players to the inactive roster and opening transfer talks. This decision follows the recent designation of MIBR as a partner team in the 2027 VCT Americas, revealing the organization's strategic adjustments in light of upcoming competitive changes.
The roster changes affect notable players Erick "aspas" Santos, Zachary "zekken" Patrone, Andrew "Verno" Maust, and Roberto "Mazino" Rivas. Previously, Ian "tex" Botsch was already benched as he explored his options for the future. MIBR's statement indicated that the decision was made after discussions with player representatives, considering the implications of the new regional structure for 2027.
Context of the Changes
The 2027 competitive format will require partner teams to secure direct entry into the Kickoff event, with only the best-performing teams moving forward, while others will drop into the Open Playoffs. Kickoff São Paulo is set to take place from January 14 to February 7, 2027. The new rules also mean that MIBR's mixed roster, featuring players from Brazil, Chile, and the U.S., will compete in the North America region.
The decision comes on the heels of a disappointing 2026 season for MIBR, where they failed to qualify for any international events, marking the first time aspas missed out on VALORANT Champions. Reports indicate that both aspas and Mazino are already exploring new team opportunities, signaling a significant shift in their professional paths.
