Team Falcons' Journey to Victory

The RLCS 2026 World Championship concluded in Fort Worth with Team Falcons emerging as champions. After navigating through the Lower Bracket, the Saudi team decisively defeated Spacestation Gaming in the Grand Final with a score of 4-0.

Held from September 15 to 20, the championship brought together 20 teams vying for the title and part of a $1,200,000 prize pool. The competition began with a Play-In phase, followed by a group stage that determined placements for a double elimination playoff bracket.

Team Falcons showcased a remarkable progression throughout the tournament. They started by overcoming FUT Esports and R8 Esports in the Play-In, securing a place in Group A with a record of two wins and one loss. Despite finishing second in the group behind Karmine Corp, this pushed them to start in the Lower Bracket for playoffs, which fueled their determination. The team quickly eliminated FURIA and Shopify Rebellion, defeated NRG Esports 4-1, and overcame Karmine Corp 4-2 in the semifinals before their championship victory.

Performance of French Teams

The performance of French teams at the event was mixed. Karmine Corp had a strong start in Group A, finishing first with three consecutive wins, but their tournament ended in the semifinals against Team Falcons. Team Vitality and Gentle Mates faced challenges in Group D, with both teams failing to advance past the Lower Bracket. Vitality secured two wins in the group but lost 1-4 to Shopify Rebellion in their first playoff match. Gentle Mates also struggled, finishing third in their group and eventually falling to Spacestation Gaming in the Lower Bracket.

Despite the challenges, Gentle Mates did walk away with a trophy as nass won the 1v1 world championship, defeating Saudi player Nwpo 4-1 in the Grand Final.
