The five returning organizations from the inaugural 2023 partnership cycle are:
- Gen.G
- Paper Rex
- Rex Regum Qeon (RRQ)
- T1
- ZETA DIVISION
Joining these established teams are three new entrants:
- Crazy Raccoon (Japan)
- FULL SENSE (Thailand)
- GAM Esports (Vietnam)
Selection Criteria
The selection process was competitive and considered various factors beyond just past performance. Riot Games emphasized the importance of organizations that prioritize fans and players, maintain strong community ties, demonstrate sustainability, and support their home regions.
Changes and Opportunities
Several teams will not continue in the partnership program, including KIWOOM DRX, DetonatioN FocusMe, Global Esports, and Team Secret. However, these organizations can still compete in the VCT Pacific through new qualification pathways set to be introduced in 2027.
The eight partnered teams will benefit from financial support from Riot Games and have opportunities to generate additional revenue through in-game items like Team Capsules. Notably, partnered teams will not automatically qualify for every VCT Pacific event, allowing non-partnered organizations to compete through Open Qualifiers.
The VCT Pacific Kickoff Qualifier registration details will be released on November 2, with qualifiers expected to start in late November and Qualifier Playoffs in early December.
