PUBG Mobile is set to participate in the medal competition at the 2026 Asian Games, taking place in Aichi and Nagoya, Japan. The finals will be held from September 28 to 29, where twelve teams from various Asian nations will vie for the coveted medals.

According to Krafton, the '2026 Asian Games Esports Finals: PUBG Mobile Asian Games Version' will occur at the Aichi Sky Expo in Tokoname. This marks the second time that PUBG Mobile has been selected as an official medal event, following its inclusion in the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games.

Tournament Structure

A total of 27 teams affiliated with National Olympic Committees (NOCs) will participate in the qualifiers leading up to the finals. The final event will feature 12 teams: eight teams that secured their spots through the qualifiers, three medalists from the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games, and the host nation, Japan.

The qualifiers were held in June in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, where 23 teams competed over three days, with the Pakistan team claiming first place and securing a spot in the finals.

During the finals, there will be 12 matches over two days, with six matches played each day. The matches will take place on the Erangel and Miramar maps, with the first four matches each day occurring on Erangel, followed by two matches on Miramar. The final rankings will be determined by a combination of cumulative ranking points and kill points accumulated throughout the matches.

Key Competitors

The Japanese team will aim for a medal in front of their home fans, while the Pakistan team, who topped the qualifiers, is also expected to be a strong contender. Other notable teams include South Korea, which won a silver medal at the 2022 Asian Games, and various other national teams participating in this competition.

PUBG Mobile, released in 2017, is an extension of the popular game 'PUBG: Battlegrounds' on mobile platforms and has been involved in esports through regional professional leagues and international tournaments. This upcoming event will draw significant attention as it represents PUBG Mobile's second appearance as an official medal event in a major international sports competition.
