Aurora Gaming Enters VALORANT Scene with New Roster

On October 29, 2026, Serbian esports team Aurora Gaming announced its entry into the VALORANT competitive scene, featuring a roster that includes former Team Vitality player Derke and former Team Heretics player Boo, among others. The team aims to qualify for the 2027 VCT EMEA Kickoff following upcoming open qualifiers.

Aurora Gaming's Entry into VALORANT

On October 29, 2026, Aurora Gaming, a Serbian esports organization, declared its new venture into the VALORANT competitive scene. The newly formed roster features five players: Derke (formerly of Team Vitality), trexx (formerly of Team Liquid), Boo (formerly of Team Heretics), along with chiwa and B1SK.

Aurora Gaming has previously competed in games like Counter-Strike 2 and Dota 2, making this their inaugural entry into VALORANT. They shared a roster image titled "THIS IS AURORA VALORANT" on their official X account, stating, "No introduction needed. A new chapter begins."

Key Roster Highlights

  • Derke: Known for his outstanding performance, Derke was part of the FNATIC team from 2021 and recently achieved a second-place finish at the VALORANT Champions 2026 in Shanghai. He has also won titles at VCT LOCK//IN São Paulo and VALORANT Masters Tokyo 2023.
  • Boo: As an in-game leader for Team Heretics, Boo has a significant track record, including runner-up finishes at VALORANT Masters Shanghai 2024 and VALORANT Champions 2024.
  • trexx: An experienced initiator, trexx has played for various teams, including Guild Esports and Team Liquid, and has achieved a VCT EMEA Stage 2 victory.
  • chiwa and B1SK: Both players have built their experience in the EMEA competitive scene, with chiwa winning multiple VALORANT Challengers events in 2026.

Future Goals

Adalyat Mamedov, CEO of Aurora Gaming, expressed pride in the rapid formation of the roster, stating it was completed just minutes before the registration deadline for qualifiers. The team is now looking towards competing in the 2027 VCT EMEA Kickoff, which has changed its format to allow open qualifiers for non-partner teams.

The European qualifiers are set to take place from November to December 2026. The top four teams from each of the two qualifiers will join eight invited teams in the playoffs, where the top two teams will earn spots in the VCT EMEA Kickoff. Aurora Gaming, with its experienced players, aims to successfully navigate these qualifiers and make an impact in the upcoming season.
